Liberian Image Award Honors Several Liberians

The Liberian Image Award is in the history books as the first ever award show to honor Liberians and people of the diaspora in the United States of America and abroad. Honorees in attendance to received their awards were Mr. Kwame Clement, Dr. Syrulwa Somah, Mr. Morris Koffa, Mr. J. Z Jallah, Dr. Dehkonti Adams, etc . Angela Peabody accepted the award for "Female Entrepreneur of the Year", and the Heart of Courage Award went to Maimah Karmo. Ms. Barkue Tubman and Ms. Rosemarie Tolbert were also honored for "Female Entrepreneur of the year". Mr.Kwame A. Clemetwas honored for "Excellence in Journalism", and the award will now be known as the "Kwame Clement Excellence in Journalism Award.

Also, hip hop/r&b artists, 2C now residing in Atlanta, GA took home the very first award for "Hip Hop/R&B Male Artist. D. J. Donzo won the "Hipco Artist of the Year". Sundaygar Dearboy took home the awards for "Song of the Year", "Male Artist of the year", and "Indigenous Artist of the Year". Bush Chicken took home the award for "Community website of the Year" and TLC Africa won "Online News Media of the Year". Hawa Daisy Moore open the show by performing one of her signature hits "Soqua". The Young and Talented Ms. Jada Mayson brought the crowd to their feet with her beautiful voice performing her gospel hit "I am". The Show was hosted by Mr. Gentleman, Jean B. Titus and the Lovely and Beautiful Alena 7, former Miss Washington DC. Plans are already in place for the 2nd Annual Liberian Image Award.
