Liberia Going Forward: NOON PRAYER CAMPAIGN
Join the Hundred-Thousand-Voice Prayer Chorus

To Liberian Christians: You have a silent weapon. Use it. That weapon is Prayer. Take it out of storage, from its hiding place, and use it vigorously. It is time to act. That action is PRAYER. The Lord is waiting to hear more from us. Now is the time to reach Heaven with your voice.

I want to provoke you to adopt the Noon Prayer Campaign. Imagine what would happen when a collective voice is “sent to heaven daily at the same time asking for the same thing.” If you are moved to do so: Join the hundred-thousand-voice prayer chorus. Every day at twelve o’clock noon, say the prayer:

“Father God, I thank you. I ask you to forgive my sins. Please restore Liberia and heal our homeland. Lord, please renew the mindset of all Liberians. In Jesus name. Amen.”

Picture this, my friend: The Lord sitting on His high throne. Angels bowing before Him. Heavenly choirs singing beautiful anthems in His presence. The breathtaking musical is ongoing. Suddenly in the distance is heard a muffled forced-rushing sound. Jesus pauses to listen. A special smile breaks out on His face. He tells the angels, “it is the Liberian voices-they are paying their daily homage to me.” He continues listening, and smiling. Then he says, “I will move for them. They have been faithful in their prayer.”

Purpose of the Noon Prayer Campaign is to Reach Heaven

The God that I know and love has said, “Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).”

Do you, Liberian you, desire to see your homeland shine, once more as a place of hope and a beacon of West Africa, indeed a shelter for all of Africa? Do you desire a new, refreshed, rebirthed, restored, regenerated and rehabilitated land and country?

Do you, Liberian you, desire to live in a place that honors the name of the Lord, Jehovah God, the Maker of heaven and earth. Do you desire to see the glory of the Lord in the land of the living? Do you desire to see positive life-style changes in your family, community, society, and nation?

Do you, Liberian you, desire state of the art hospitals and specialty clinics, pharmacies and laboratories, decent office buildings, malls, supermarkets, theatres, department stores, schools, universities, office and municipal buildings (infrastructure)?

Do you, Liberian you, desire pump water and flush toilet (sanitation)? Do you desire to see ‘lectric light (electricity) and light pole (street lights) and red “ray” light (traffic lights) shining all around? Do you desire to plug your icebox (refrigerator) and freezer, iron, stove, air conditioner, etc. (appliances) any time you want? Do you desire to drink irsty (icy) cold water any time day or night, to quench your thirst?

Do you, Liberian you, desire to ride on coal tar “paved” roads, and multiple-lane highways and accessible, passable byroads? Do you desire to see commuter buses, taxis system, trains, planes and automobiles become as commonplace as in the West?

Do you, Liberian Diaspora you, desire to walk up and down the streets of Monrovia and see many people you actually know (familiar faces) walking around, meeting and laughing, hugging and shaking hands, joking and high-fiving?

The God I have come to know and love and worship, has said: “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2nd Chronicles 7:14).

Do not doubt that one day, The Republic could shine once more as a beacon of hope for West Africa; indeed, all of Africa. The Word of God says, “Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place” (2nd Chronicles 7:15).

I do not claim to know answers. I make no indication that I know the logistics of nation building. Allow me to say I know nothing about nothing. One thing I do know, the Word of God is Truth! When God says it, you better believe it. If God says “His eyes will be open and His ears attentive to the prayers”, then so it shall be. When the Lord commands to “humble self, pray, seek Him, and turn from sin and He will hear”, you can count it to be that way.

Liberian you, have you considered the power of prayer? I mean battleground, decisive, prayer. Individual prayer. Unified group prayer. Haven’t you yet concluded that when all else seem to be failing, then, it is time to step up your game! If you know the winning habit, would you not exhibit it? If you hold the key in your hands would you stand outside a locked door waiting to go in? Forget the plenty talk. We are a society-full of ‘know it all’ people! Leave the empty talk-talk. Begin to pray. Pray often. Pray more. Pray passionately. Repent, and start to do things God’s way. Clear the path your prayer has to travel. Clean up your heart. Move the blockades from in the way of your prayers. Flush your system with the things of the Lord.

Liberian Diaspora you, have you considered the power of prayer? Some traveled abroad while in their twenties and are now in their fifties; and regardless of all they have acquired in foreign lands, they still sit dreaming of ‘home’ and gazing with nostalgia. You reminiscent and speak of, “I want to go ‘home’ even if just to see”. That tells me your body is functioning quite properly in one place while your heart is caught in another place. The saying is, “home is where the heart is”. If you were told prayer changes things, would you believe it? If you were told that prayer could make the home you wish for, a reality, would you give “serious prayer” a second thought?

The above-mentioned Biblical quote from ‘2nd Chronicles’ was from the happenings surrounding the time of King Solomon building the temple of the Lord. After years of construction, that magnificent wonder was completed. King Solomon dedicated the temple, making burnt offerings as was the custom. He presented the people to Jehovah God to keep and protect. After the prayer, God responded by fire! The Glory of God (the presence of the Lord) filled the place. Hallelujah! The Glory of God was so strong it consumed everything on the altar and filled the entire temple that no one could enter there. The Glory of the Lord was everywhere, dominating the whole place! Such was the power of God that day that all the people fell flat on their faces to the ground and worshipped the Lord God: the Living God! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!!

Later that night, Almighty God, Jehovah Shammath (The Lord is Present) visited King Solomon and gave him that promise for the people. The Lord warned, if the people forsook the Lord their God, He would reject the temple, that majestic wonder. You see, my dear friend, God is not about buildings and structures. God is about hearts and minds turned to Him and stayed on Him. If the people would honor the Lord Almighty, He would be with them. Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Hosts or The Lord of Armies) would answer his children whenever they call on Him!

My friend, imagine that sight! Imagine what would happen when thousands of Liberians constantly fall prostrate in their private corners to worship their God, Jehovah Most High. Prayer can turn things around. Forget a little bit about what others are doing wrong. Stop just stoning. Start building up, one stone at a time. Lift one another up! You do what is right. If everyone tries to do right, there would not be enough wrongs to discuss.

My friend, God’s ears and eyes are open. He is watching everything we do. If God sees the burning desire to restore our land and country; if God sees our honest commitment to be better people; and if we diligently lift up the name of the Lord above every name, then what Liberians greatly desire—restoration of our land and country—will be ours! Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord our Righteousness) will answer by fire and turn our homeland around, propelling Liberia to bigger and better days! Jesus Christ will prove that with God nothing is impossible.

My friend, the Word of God is Truth. According to the Holy Bible, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain” (Psalm 127:1). Let us ask the Lord to build “our house” (heart and country). When the Lord builds Liberia, only then shall The Lone Star stand forever.

The God that I know and love has said, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me” (Psalm 50:15). God will hear the cries of the many, old and young, who desperately want to return to their homeland. God will hear the cry of the tired, beaten, weary refugee still languishing in foreign lands. God will hear the cry of that second generation Liberian who has so much to offer but not enough chances. God will hear the cries of the internally displaced, distressed, depressed, hopeless and lost child and fatigued adult who has given up in despair and have no place else to go. God will hear the cry of every Liberian who desires to see their nation arise and awaken from what seems like a long, deep sleep. God will hear the cries of His repentant children. In Jesus name. Amen.
