Journey of a Liberian Mining Engineer What you didn’t know about Liberia!” by octogenarian and citizen extraordinaire, Joseph G. Richards!

The family of Joseph G. Richards is pleased to announce the successful launch of his book at a book signing held at Claret Hall in Clarksville, MD on Saturday, January 14, 2012. The release of the book has received media coverage from TLCAfrica, The Diaspora Voice, The Africa World TV and WBALTV. Please enjoy viewing the photos!

For more information on how you can obtain a copy of the book, please send an email to or call 443-415-0007 in the United States and +231-886-540-093 in Liberia.

Mr. Richards has left for Liberia, where he will hold a second book signing prior to returning to the United States for another signing and a Question and Answer session, which is being requested by popular demand.

He would like to extend his deepest appreciation to all of his wonderful supporters who attended the event, called or emailed and those who have purchased copies of the book or will be purchasing copies of the book in years to come. Without you, this effort would be in vain. His family would like to thank him for persevering and completing this very valuable work which will benefit all Liberians and people from around the world. At the book signing, Mr. Richards expressed thanks to his wife of 61 years, Anna L. Richards, for all of her support and for not only being there for him but, also for being his friend and business partner, actively engaged in their various business endeavors over the years. As it is often said, “Behind every successful man is a great woman!” The children would like to thank their mother for being the rock that took care of them while their father spent many months away, working for the Liberian government.

Thanks also go to the following persons for all of their work prior to, during and following the book signing event. Their contributions were absolutely invaluable and without each one of them, the event would not have been a success: His children and grandchildren; other family members and friends, including: Agatha Farngalo, Banke King Akerele, Dawn Cooper Barnes, Elwood Dunn, Lisa Cooper Green, Martha Weeks, Michael Richards, M. Daniel Nelson, Jr., Pereta Summerville, Theodore Morgan, Yvette Lomax and finally, members of the media, Alvin Peabody (The Diaspora Voice), Ciata Victor (TLCAfrica), Kwame Clement and Welma Redd (TheAfricaWorldTV) and Wanda Draper (WBALTV).
