| The LCANJ became an association in the late seventies, and soon grew into a larger community by the nineteen-nineties. The association encompass eleven counties in the State of New Jersey, namely: Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset, Morris, Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Union and Middlesex. The community grew because of the protracted and catastrophic civil war that was fought in Liberia for fifteen years. This sad episode brought many Liberians into exile in many parts of the world, but more so in the State of New Jersey. Liberians are, by and large, a proud, dignified and law abiding people. Thus, as president of LCANJ, Mrs. Mensah M. Jones and our community officials envisioned that a Website would be a valuable tool in promoting unity and preserving our self-esteem, particularly for those new to our Community. Through their efforts, we hope to enhance a better and viable means of communications between our community and all friends of Liberia.
