Deaconess
Doris George
The
United Baptist Church Family, the George, Cooper and Davis families
announce with deep regrets the death of Deaconess Doris George of
Springdale, Maryland. This sad event occurred on Sunday, March 20,
2005 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. She
was 84 years old.
Mother
Doris George was a Deaconess at the United Baptist Church
of Silver Spring, Maryland. She was born in Grand Bassa County and
a daughter of Vincent George.
She
is survived by her Church Family (United Baptist Church), her daughter
in Liberia (Margaret Nyemah), her son and daughter of Springdale,
Maryland (Agnew and Jemima Cooper), the George and Davis families
of Liberia and the United States, her grandchildren, and a host
of relatives and friends in Liberia and the United States.

André Joseph Kenny Sr.

Joseph Kenny Sr., who passed away on the 14th of February 2005

André Joseph Kenny Sr. departed this earth on Monday February
14th, 2005 after a very brief illness. André was born on
July 27th, 1937 in Guinea to the late Marie-Rose Williams and Joseph
Kenny.
He
is survived by his daughter Marie-Rose Kenny, predeceded by his
son Andre Kenny, Jr, three grandchildren Petrina, Andrea (USA),
and Edward Andre' of Liberia. Also a very special son, Mondray T.
Outland.
He leaves behind three sisters: Elizabeth Jones (Freetown), Marian
H. Pratt and Rose-Marie Percy (USA), two brothers Johnny Kenny (Freetown)
and Johnnie Leon Williams (Liberia).
His nieces and nephews include Veronica, Kingstina, Cassandra, Leona,
Julius Pratt, Patrick, Johnny Kenny Jr., Donald and Bernard. André's
aunts and cousins include: Clarise Camara and family (Guinea), Adel
Bakayoko and family (USA), Camara family of Sig, Madinna (Guinea),
Theresa Metzger and Family (Tampa & Atlanta) Marie-Jeane (Guinea)
and Fudia Keita. He also had special friends that he considered
his family: Dr. and Mrs. David Mahan and Family and Mrs. Matilda
Richards Outland and Family. These are very important people in
his life. Other relatives include: the Camara and Williams family
of Conakry, Guinea and Sierra Leone, the Kenny of Freetown, Pontua
and Momoh family(Sierra Leone and Guinea), Scott family, Marcarthy
and a host of grand nieces and nephews that include Jason Benjamin.
He
was employed at the John F Kennedy Hospital in Liberia for several
years before he came to the USA
Mrs.
Eva Elliott- Sherman
Sun rise, March 14, 1954 - Sun set, February 16, 2005
With
profound sadness, sorrow and grief, the Sherman and Elliott families
of Liberia and the United States announce the home going of their
beloved Eva Elliott-Sherman, formerly of 37 Barker Street, Staten
Island, New York 10310. This untimely event occurred on Wednesday,
February 16, 2005 at 4: 00 A. M. in the Staten Island University
Hospital, New York.
Eva
was born on March 14 1954, to the union of Charles D. Elliott and
Nancy Winifred Shaw- Elliott. On April 15, 1989, she married William
Feweh Sherman in First United Methodist Church, Monrovia, Liberia.
He survives. Eva was educated in Liberia and California. She was
a graduate of St. Theresa's Convent, and until her death remained
actively involved in the activities of the alumni association of
her alma mater. For more than twenty-two years, Eva worked at the
Citibank offices in Yekepa and Monrovia where she won many accolades
for her diligence to duty and exemplary work. She was a member of
the First United Methodist Church of Liberia and a fraternal member
of the Basheba Chapter (Robertsport, Cape Mount) of the Eastern
Star of Liberia. Before she relocated to New York, Eva and her family
worshiped at the Grace Episcopal Church of Clay Ashland, Liberia,
under the pastorialship of Reverend Father Emmanuel D. Hodges.
To
mourn her loss, Eva leaves behind her husband, William Feweh Sherman;
son, Roderic Sherman; daughters, Nancy Weyatta Sherman, Olivia Elliott;
sister Bernice Barclay; brother, Peter Elliott; aunt, Rachael Thomas,
nephews, Charles & Jehu Elliott; cousin Comfort Bedell; adopted
son, Joseph Elliott and a host of other relatives in Liberia and
the United States.
During
our period of bereavement, we continued to be consoled and comforted
by the countless phones calls and other acts of generosity by friends,
family and well-wishers. Many of you have expressed your desire
of taking part in the funeral services; accordingly, we are announcing

Anna Elizabeth Kamara
The
family of Anna Elizabeth Kamara sadly announces her death which
occurred on February 14, 2005 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore,
Maryland. Mrs. Kamara, 62, is the mother of Zoe Kamara-Wilson and
Ethel Kamara of Frederick, Md., and Philadelphia, Pa., respectively.
Mrs.
Kamara attended Bromley Mission and graduated from Booker Washington
Institute. She attended the Universty of Liberia and worked at the
Executive Mansion for a short while. Before coming to the United
States, she served for many years as principal of the Augustus F.
Caine Elementary School in Virginia, Liberia.
The
Wake will be from 6:00pm - 9:00pm on March 11, 2005
The
Funeral Service will be from 10:00am - 12:00pm on March 12, 2005
Both
services will be held at Viers Mill Baptist Church, 12221 Viers
Mill
Road, Silver Spring, Maryland 20906.
Mrs.
Kamara's remains will be taken to Virginia, Liberia, where she had
requested that she be buried.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Augustus F. Caine
Elementary School in Virginia, Liberia, where Mrs. Kamara was principal
for many years.
