Joseph Douglas Barclay
It is with deep sadness that we, the Barclay, Freeman, Phelps, Urey, Bryan and Okorodudu families, announce the homegoing of our beloved father, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend, Joseph Douglas Barclay of Careysburg, Liberia and resident of Cape May Court House, New Jersey, USA. This sad event occurred very unexpectedly at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 24, 2013.
Joseph was affectionately known as "Big Boy". He is survived by his daughter Julia, several sisters and brothers including Corann Okorodudu, Juliette Phelps Maxwell, and Mabel Bryan (Ted), Botoe Barclay, Dobli Barclay, Esther Barclay, and Kekula Earl Mulbah, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends residing in the United States and Liberia.
Joseph was pre-deceased by his loving father, the Honorable Senator Botoe Barclay, Sr., mother, Julia Freemen Barclay, and sisters, Oretha Phelps, Maude Phelps, Marjorie Henries, Eleanor Phelps, and Ruth Barclay. As we grieve our loss, we give thanks to the Lord for his life and celebrate his homegoing.
