Old Soldiers Never Die They Just Fade Away

The Bedell, Nimley (Dugbanyenopoh) and Talebo Families of Grandcess, Grand Kru County and Rocktown, Maryland County, regret to announce the home-going of their Father, Brother, Uncle, and Cousin, Ret. Col. Arthur Wah-Dweh Bedell, Sr., former Senator (NDPL) of Grand Kru County, Republic of Liberia; Former Assistant Chief of Staff for Aviation, Ministry of National Defense;   Former Commandant of the Air Reconnaissance Unit of the Armed Forces of Liberia;  and former Chairman of the True Whig Party of Liberia (TWP).

Retired Colonel Arthur Wah-Dweh Bedell, the veteran airline pilot and career soldier, served the Liberian nation and people in active duty for nearly a half-century. He journeyed to the great beyond to be with his Maker on July 26, 2012 at the age of 72. This sad event took place, after a period of ailment, at the Laurel County Hospital in Laurel, Maryland, USA.

Arthur, as he was affectionately called, graduated from the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) and the University of Liberia, as well as obtained several military training certificates and aviation licenses from the United States of America and other nations. A law-abiding citizen and God fearing man, a strong member of the United Brotherhood of Odd Fellows (UBF), a staunch supporter of the United Methodist Church in Liberia, and an active member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel, Maryland, USA.

The late Senator Bedell leaves to mourn his loss: Partner/Companion, Monsio S. Seedee; Children-Comfort, Jewel, Thomas Monsio, Wah-Frey Jr., Irene (Bedell-Smith), Dekontee, Fonati and Gabriel Blamo; Siblings-Christina Bedell- Anderson, Wah-Frey Augustus Bedell, Sr., and Victoria Bedell Forh. He was predeceased by his Parents, Gregory Wah-Bedell and Beatrice Memeh Bedell, and elder Brothers, James Wah-Kwen Bedell, Sr. and Lt. Col. Daniel Dembo Bedell, Sr. In addition, he will be missed and remembered by a host of other relatives, friends and associates in Liberia, the United States, Europe, and other parts of the world.

Celebration of Life activities in Monrovia, Liberia.

Ret. Col. Arthur Wah-Dweh Bedell, Sr. will be laid in State at the Rotunda on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.

Removal of the Body from Good Shephard Funeral Home, Cheeseman Ave, on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 9:00 A.M. taken to Georgia Patten Memorial United Methodist Church, Waterside, UN Drive for Funeral Services at 10:00 A.M.

Interment follows at Brewerville Cementary
