William Craty Kon Blai

It is with our deepest sympathy for the Blai (Gblai), Barjolo and Ben families to announce the passing of our dear father, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend William Craty Kon Blai. He passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Norfolk, Virginia surrounded by loved ones.

William was born to the late Johnny and Glayonoh Gblai on August 15, 1952 in Kparblee District of Nimba County, Liberia. He moved to the United States of America in 1973 to pursue his education at Virginia Union University in Richmond, VA. He received his bachelor's in English and Master's of Education. He married his sweetheart Louise Letcontin Johnson and together they raised, three children: Lindell, Dwayne and Yvette. A devoted soldier and veteran of the U.S. Army and owner of his own computer business, William is survived by his wife Louise, children, three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by a host of siblings including Troh Gbehe Pierre, Martha Dennis, Rebecca Tankwai, Betty Kun, and many others.
