Ruth Fornyeneh Nagbe Boker

The Boker & Nagbe Wieh Families mournfully announce the passing of Ruth Fornyeneh Nagbe Boker, devoted wife, loving mother, and affectionate relative and friend. Following a long battle against cancer, she passed into heavenly peace on Saturday, September 8.

Born on May 1, 1948 in Monrovia, Liberia, Ruth attended St. Theresa Convent and Samuel Grimes Center (formerly known as Miss Moore) in Kakata, Margibi County.

Ruth was a long-time resident of Jersey City, New Jersey and member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. She was an adamant supporter of education and spent a majority of her professional career serving as Head Teacher at The Sarkis & Siran Gabrellian Child Care and Learning Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. She is a Charter Member of the St. Bridget’s Ladies Auxilary #528. She is also the former Treasurer and former District Representative of the same order. Ruth will long be remembered for her sensatiable smile, commitment to teaching, witty sense of humor, and devotion to helping others both in the US and in her home country of Liberia. Though gone, she will always be loved by those who were blessed to have known her.

Ruth is the daughter of Tennsee Wieh Nagbe (deceased) and Agnes Jappah. She is remembered by her husband, Dr. Thomas Boker; both biological and adoptive children, Tracy Boker, Auntie Boker, Boyedee Boker, Arway Boker, Baleh Doe, Kieh Seliee Boker, and Tetee Sarkor. She is also remembered by her grandchildren, Amber Brunson, Dominique Boker, Sio Boker, Ansu Kaba, Hadja Kaba, Jlamute Boker, Snolti Boker, Robert Harper, and Juah Awlime; her siblings, Betiah Nagbe, Thomas Boye-Weah, Catherine Sonpon, Musu Wahkor, Maureen Mason, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
