Mrs. Gwendolyn Arimetta Brooks
It is with the deepest of sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful home-coming, in her eighty-second year, of our mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunty, cousin, teacher, and friend: Mrs. Gwendolyn Arimetta Brooks (Aunty Mamie/Teacher Mamie).
This sad event occurred on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Catherine Adeyemo, in the Township of Virginia, Liberia, West Africa.
She leaves to mourn her loss: one sister-in-law (Caroline Brooks), one sister, Florence Brooks Neufville, her ex-husband: Mr. Kandakai A. Duncan, Sr., seven children: Kandakai, Jr., Roselyn, Jamesetta, Jeremiah (Obie), Catherine, Adolphus and Jerry. Three daughters-in-law: Arimetta, Caroline and Oprah. One son-in-law Olu Adeyemo. Twenty-eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Two of her children predeceased her: Rachel and Gwendolyn.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:

- Both services will be held at the Eddie Memorial United Methodist Church,, Township of Virginia, Republic of Liberia
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 445 Elmwood Ave., Providence, RI 02907 USA
