Celestine "Netine" Minor Brown

The Brown, Minor, and King families announce with profound sadness the homegoing of Celestine "Netine" Minor Brown. This sad event occurred on Tuesday, April 3rd in Paynesville, Liberia.

Celestine leaves to mourn her lost and to cherish her memory, her husband, Rev. William Brown, four children (Mardia, Evita, Teddy and Massa); sisters: Johnetta Minor (Providence, RI), Gertrude Minor Nwaobi (Nigeria), Adelaide Minor (Monrovia); Sophie Minor (Atlanta, GA), Dolly Minor Briamah, Elizabeth Minor Lavalla (Monrovia), Tanis Harding (Italy), and Myra Morris (Milwaukee). Brothers: Alfred Orlando Minor (Minnesota), Charles Minor, Buster Minor, Ernest Minor (Monrovia), and Edwin Minor (Columbus, MD); her only surviving aunt Melvinia King Okai (Monrovia); nieces: Millie Minor Williams (Monrovia), Ella Minor Hooke (Atlanta, GA), Lydia Greene Mappy (Morrisville, PA) and Cornelia Porte (Atlanta, GA). Cousins: Yvette (T-Lady) Cephas, Dolly Stevens, Imani (Victoria Benson) Bendu, Laurentine (Tina) Bass, Florence Haynes, Williametta Benson Capehart, Henry Cephas, Grace Minor, and Edith Minor Addy. Other includes the Weaver, Benson, Nelson, Maximore, Brandy, Early, and McGee families, and a host of relatives and friends in Liberia, USA and abroad.

Celestine was born unto the union of Deacon John Henry Minor and Mrs. Dolly King Minor who predeceased her. Sisters who predeceased her were Cleo King, Marthan Minor and Frances Minor. Her two brothers who also predeceased her were William "Bill" Minor (Mayor of Paynesville, Liberia) and James "JH" Lewis.
