In Loving Memory of Dr Robert Harry Brown
October 12, 1945 – April 18, 2018
The Brown family wishes to announce with deep regrets the passing of their father, brother, and Uncle, Dr. Robert Harry Brown. Dr. Brown died on April 18, 2018 at his home after a protracted illness in Leicester, England.
Dr. Robert Harry Brown was born in Maryland County, Liberia on October 12, 1945 and was known to be an excellent student during his elementary to high school days. And as a result, he was awarded scholarship to study at Stonehill College in Massachusetts in the United States of America, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.
He then returned to Liberia and worked as a Research Officer at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism for several years and then decided to further his education at Howard University, a Prestigious Black University in Washington, D C., where he earned a Masters of Arts Degree in English Literature.
Being an Academician, he moved to England, enrolled at the University of London, where he earned another Masters of Arts Degree in Language and Literature and then matriculated to the University of Essex in England, where he finally earned a Ph. D. in English Literature
As a result of his Academic Accomplishments, he became a renown Professor and taught at several Universities in the United Kingdom prior to retirement.
Dr. Brown leaves to mourn his son, Harry Brown, Sisters Emma Brown Wallace, Grace Brown Leo, Etta Brown, Bernice Brown Anderson, Ann Anderson Neal, Letia Anderson, together with several Nieces and Nephews, including, Patricia Wallace, Marie Leo, Elizabeth Hare-Kruah, and Marlene Bush-Williams.
A Private Funeral Service will be held on May 3, 2018 @ 11 AM in Leicester, England.
