Sherman Wilfred Brown
The Clement, Brown, and Cooper families announce with sad regrets the death of our father, brother, and relative, Sherman Wilfred Brown, a Liberian icon. This sad event occurred on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2012 in Liberia. “Mrs. Brown’s Fat Little Boy” as he was known on radio, was a veteran and renown broadcaster of his time. He worked for ELBC/S for many years on radio, as well as with the UNAMSIL and UNMIL radio stations in Sierra Leone and Liberia respectively. In addition to hosting radio shows, as an Entrepreneur and under his company SABI Productions, he produced the famous television show, “Week-End Special”. This weekly Saturday night show was one of the most educational and entertaining productions of his time. He and SABI also helped beautify the city of Monrovia with rotating billboards used for advertisements.
Sherman leaves to mourn his loss his children – Maxwell Wilfred Brown (Sia), Sherleen Brown Totimeh (Lawrence), Sherman Kaipha Brown (Lena), Kinnie Wilbert Brown (Sarah), and Genevieve Brown Gbatu (Allen) – fourteen grand children, nine foster children, one brother, Hietha C. Brown, Sr., one foster sister, Maggie Clarke, his fiancé, Cecelia Mitchell, five sisters-in-law – Annette Brown, Sata Karnley, Miatta Karnley, Musu Johnson and Doris Captan – nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives, friends and colleagues residing both in the United States and Liberia.
