TLC Africa 2008

The Chesson, Diggs, Clark and Otu families hereby announce the death of Evangeline ("Sister Diggs") Chesson. This sad event occurred on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in Newark, Delaware.

Evangeline was born to the union of Thomas E. Diggs and Victoria V. Clark in Kakata, Liberia, the second of five children. She is a graduate of the Gbarnga Methodist Mission in Gbarnga, Bong County, the College of West Africa high school in Monrovia, Liberia, and the University of Liberia (B.S.) in Monrovia, Liberia.

By far the most important event in her life, however, was her baptism in September 1974 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. For many years thereafter, she served periodically as a fulltime evangelizer, both in Liberia and in the United States. At the time of her death, she continued to serve as a faithful member of the Wellington, Manassas congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Virginia.

She is survived by her:

" Sons - Clarence Wesley (Georgia) and Jahyue Futrell (Virginia);
" Brothers - Joseph T. Diggs, Bennie Diggs and Mintchen Randall (Delaware), Anthony Randall (New Jersey), and Matthew Clarke and Ted Diggs (Liberia);
" Sisters - Olive Diggs, Yassah Diggs, Multtee Randall, Enolia Diggs-Wong (Georgia), Yassa Diggs-Mehn (Pennsylvania), Amelia Diggs-Sirleaf (Minnesota), Della Diggs, Estella Diggs (Liberia), Marjuahn Wright (California);
" Aunts - Elizabeth Roberts (Connecticut), Angeline Clark (New Jersey), Joanna Natt (New York), and Martha Koryua (Liberia)
" Relatives and Friends - numerous, including Ronald and Vickie Wilson and Isaac & Jebeh Otu (Delaware).
