Jatu Johnson Zoker Choice

Jatu Johnson Zoker Choice was called home to glory on Friday March 14, 2008 in Winston-Salem, NC. Jatu was born on November 15, 1953 to Kanah Johnson and Kuku Moseyee in Coma, Liberia. She married Samuel Zoker Sr. of Grand Cape Mount County in 1968 and had four children; Samuel Siaka Zoker, Jr., Varnie Zoker, Gladys Zoker and Siatu Zoker. Jatu and Samuel Sr. lived in Robertsfield, Liberia and maintained a marriage of fourteen years before divorcing in 1982. Jatu and her four children relocated to the United States along with her younger sister Zena Zoker. They all resided in Jersey City, New Jersey for several years before Jatu and her children moved to Texas, USA.

While in Texas, Jatu remarried and had three more children Steve Zoker, (twins) Cathryn Moseyee and Margaret Moseyee. It was in Texas that Jatu's faith increased beyond measure and she slaved for the Lord and his kingdom. She was an avid member of Without Walls Church and was under the leadership of Pastor Reyes. After Jatu and her second husband separated, she dedicated the rest of her life to God and his work.

In addition to the family mentioned, Jatu is also survived by eight grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Esther Dunbar Zoker and a son-in-law Joseph Leo Mercy, that all loved her dearly. Her grandchildren from Samuel Jr.: Cedric Zoker (19), Martin Zoker (14) Trinity Zoker (5), and Anaiya Zoker (4). Grandchildren from Varnie & Esther Zoker: Blair Zoker (16) and Naomi Zoker (3). Grandchildren from Gladys Zoker & Joseph Mercy: Jovannia Zoker-Mercy (12) and Nijoe Zoker-Mercy (9). Jatu is the Christian example for her family. It is through the faith that she instilled in her children and grandchildren that they find solace at such a grievous time. To our Mom, Grandma, Wife, Sister, Daughter, Mother-in-law, and a laborer for Christ, YOU WILL BE MISSED!

The family invites all those that knew Jatu Johnson Zoker Choice and her family to the home going ceremonies taking place on Saturday, March 29th, 2008.
