Thomas Z. Clark
July 9, 1927 to December 6, 2016

The Clark and Turkett families announce the peaceful passing of Reverend Thomas Zephaniah Clark. This sad event occurred on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his residence in Congo Town, Liberia. He was originally from West Road, Arthington, Liberia.

Over his active life time, Reverend Clark served intermittently as a school teacher first in Dubli Island, Todee, Montserrado Co.; with the Suehn Industrial Academy, Bomi Co.; with the Arthington Central High School; with the Jordan A.M.E School in Royesville, Montserrado Co.; and with the Monrovia College and Industrial Training School on Camp Johnson Road, Monrovia. He also worked with the Ministry of Labor, Youth and Sports; the World Bank Education Project (Ministry of Education) and with the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation. Reverend Clark pastored many churches in the A.M.E compact rising later to the position of Presiding Elder for the Monrovia District.
 
He is survived by his loving wife of more than 65 years, Mrs. Christiana Turkett-Clark, their children Spencer K. Clark (Mabel), Christine R. Clark-Mensah (Darlingston), Everett J. Clark (Estella), T. Edison Clark (Bendu), Charles E. Clark (Amanda), Titus E. Clark, Alexander G. Clark (Lorpu), Samuel Emmanuel Clark (Hawa), Sharon Clark-Hill, Gerald J. Clark, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives in Liberia and abroad.

This announcement was submitted by his wife Mrs. Christiana Turkett-Clark and sons, Everett J. Clark, T. Edison Clark and Charles Clark.

Services are as below:

Wake
Wake-keeping will be held from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Eliza Turner Memorial AME Church located on Camp Johnson Road, Monrovia on Thursday, 29 December 2016. (Except for very close family, all other tributes are expected to be made at this time). 

Funeral and Prayer Service
The Funeral Service will be held at the same church on the following day beginning at 9:30 a.m. after which his remains will be taken to the Mt. Carmel AME Church in Arthington for a short prayer service.  

Interment
Following that prayer service, the body will be taken to the John Wesley Clark Family Cemetery on West Road, Arthington for burial.
