Prophetess and International Deacon Lucy Nana Walker-Cole
The Walker, Cole and Cummings families wish to announce with profound sadness and Celestial Joy the death of our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Prophetess and International Deacon Lucy Nana Walker-Cole of the Church of the Lord "Aladura" on Center Street, Monrovia, Liberia. Her death occurred on Sunday, November 27th, 2016 at 12 PM at her home in Duala, Monrovia.
She is survived by four of her nine children:
Rev. Joseph M. Cummings, Sr., of the USA, Abbie Cole-Woods, of the UK, Gladys Osie Walker and Roseline Wokie Cole-Doe, both of Monrovia. Five daughters who preceded her in death: Sarah T. Howard-Salbie- of Cape Palmas, Mary Osei- of the Liberian Police Force, Monrovia, Mabel, Mekie and Teta (Omodele) Cole, 28 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, at home and abroad. Mother Cole was predeceased by her late husband, Mr. Theophilus P. Cole, and her older sister, Rev. Anna Rhoda Walker.
Family and Friends: Mother Lucy is survived by five sisters. Three in the USA: Elizabeth Emma Rogers (Niece, Patricia Browne) of New York, Regina Rogers of Pennsylvania and Josephine Davies of Minnesota, and Comfort and Cecelia Kyne of Monrovia.
Notable among her many life-long and close friends are: Wokie Tolbert-Tubman, Betty Carter, Apostle Koromah-Head, Aladura Church, Monrovia, Fr. Tipko, Cllr. George Henries, Hon.John G. Bestman, Vera Oyé-Yaa-Anna and many other relatives and friends.
May her soul rest in perpetual peace!
Memorial Services will be held in Liberia in April and Maryland, on her 80th Birthday in February 2017.
