Yearkpon Kon-we-dee Daewhea Cole
February 10, 1933- March 7, 2018
Yearkpon Kon-we-de Cole, one of the most, loving and caring woman we ever met in our lifetime. The Christ-like spirit and dedication she displayed in demonstrating true love to make young, old, and strangers feel welcome, valued and honored. The simplicity to connect with anybody made her a friend and family to all who met her. Nothing mattered to her than making sacrifice to put others first. She possessed the true identity of a biblical mother and a virtual woman. Our mother was a sincere person whose genuineness, prayerfulness and commitment to serve and give her best, will continue to inspire us to remember a life that touched lives.
We could not imagine anyone else being more deserving of a joyful and peaceful after-life. Though she is not present with us physically anymore, we will continue to enjoy the heroic role she played in our lives, especially we as her children, immediate family and the special caring touch she made on everyone that ever came in contact with her. Through the memories and many life lessons we learned during her time with us, will cause us to always celebrate her life.
Truly, we will miss an angel who was assigned to us for these years. Everyone was her friend. Everybody was her family member. She did not pick and choose. She loved and gave to all that passed her way. So strong within, did not allow anyone’s behavior to distract her from being full of the fruit of the spirit. What a woman of peace, hope, joy, patience, love, compassion, forgiveness, and the lists goes on. No anger or bitterness, was ever found in her mouth. As we grew up with her, we saw no jealousy, no fighting or quarreling in her life. As a warrior, she refused to fight or fuss with human beings. She rather seeks the face of God, hope for the best or leave things alone. If you were to ask to summarize my mother in few words, I would say Nahn was VERY HUMBLE and LOVING.
It is with this mixed feeling that we announce the peaceful translation and home-going (from labor to rest) of mother, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunty, cousin, Mother Yearkpon Kon-we-de Cole who went to be with the Lord on March 7th 2018 in Rivercess County, Liberia. “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”.
