Maggie Margaret Collins

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:8 The children of Maggie Margaret Collins give praise and glory to God for the peaceful home going of their mother, who departed this life on Sunday afternoon October 19, 2014 in Monrovia enroute to the S.D.A. Hospital in Sinkor, following a sudden heart attack. Maggie Collins, said good bye to her family after she came from morning mass and had enough fun with her daughter and grand children that faithful Sunday.

Maggie Collins was born unto the union of Huge Collins and Margaret McIntosh Collins on August 22, 1944 in the city of Greenville, Sinoe County,Liberia. She leaves behind four children, Rev'd Canon Frederick Walker (Salome), Leo Harris, Olive Harris and Patricia Dillon. Fourteen grand children and five great grand children. Five sisters, Amanda Doe (deceased), Lucretia Dennis, Winifred Collins and Alome Collins. She had five brothers who predeceased her.

Following her training at the Kakata Rural Teacher Training Institute, where she completed a level 'C" Certificate in teaching, she was immediately employed by the Saint Samuel's High School on Center Street Monrovia where she served for three decades in the elementary division. She also served at the J.W. Pearson Elementary School on Carey Street, Monrovia for many years. She is known by many of her students as Teacher Maggie. Teacher Maggie was indeed compassionate with her career as an elementary school teacher and the many young men and women she taught over the years who are in various positions of trust both at home and overseas. Teacher Maggie, contributed her service selflessly as an Elementary School Teacher of the Government of Liberia for several years until she migrated to the United States of America in 2006 to join her son, daughter-in-law and grand children. Maggie Collins, was a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church on Camp Road Monrovia. She served as a member of Saint Thomas Episcopal church Senior Choir for many years.
