Reverend Mother Dixine N. Cox
Reverend Mother Dixine N. Cox, lovingly known to her children as Mama Darling, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on August 29, 2013 in her 77th year at the home of her sister in Nashville, Tennessee, USA. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, James Lamark Cox, Sr., eight children, and a host of affectionate relatives. Her gentle, caring, giving nature has enriched the lives of all those who have been blessed with her presence. She exuded courage and devotion throughout her life of inspiring others to blossom into their best selves. She worked passionately to demonstrate the love of Christ in her religious service, reaching out to people from all walks of life, bridging nations and communities, and soothing hearts and minds with her faith, humility, brilliance, eloquence and warmth.
We celebrate her exemplary legacy and beautiful spirit at this time; the seeds she so generously planted to brighten the world will continue to flourish and grow.
Homegoing Celebration will be held in Monrovia, Liberia, at the First United Methodist Church on 19 October 2013.
The wake keeping service is 18 October 2013 at the Alzetta Prout Memorial Prayer Chapel, 62 Ashmun Street, Snapper Hill.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Dixine N. Cox Young Workers for Christ Foundation Scholarship Fund.
