The Late Prophetess Davis was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone on June 22, 1925 unto the union of the Josephus Hughes and Hawa Hughes.  She obtained her education in Freetown, Sierra Leone and emigrated to Liberia in the mid 1950s to join her brothers Thomas Hughes and Ernest Hughes who were living comfortably in Liberia at the time.   It was in Liberia, Cupid's arrow struck and she met and married John B. Davis in 1958.

After her marriage, Mother Davis became a devout member of the Church of the Lord Aladura where she served faithfully; rising through the ranks to become an ordained Minister of the Church.  She continued her faithful and selfless services to the building of God's Kingdom on earth.  She dedicated many of her youthful years to fasting and praying for others.  In the year 2000, as a result of the Liberian Civil War she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia to be with her daughter "Mary Elizabeth".  She immediately found a Church home and became a member of the ministerial staff at the International Christian Fellowship Ministries of Atlanta, Georgia; where she continued to faithfully serve her Lord and God until her health began to fail.

The Davis, Hughes, Williamson, Hill, Jones and Waritay Families will sorely miss our Mother, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother and Aunty for the values she imparted; the old stories she told; the stern discipline she enforced; the great sense of humor; and the many moments of fun and dancing we had with her. So, although, we mourn her loss, we joyfully celebrate her triumphant entry into Heaven, the Place she labored so hard to see.  Rest in Peace Mama, Grand Ma, Auntie and "Senior Minister".
