It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, the Dougan and Johnson families wish to inform you of the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunty, cousin and friend Mrs. Elizabeth Mapoo Johnson-Dougan, affectionately known as "E, Liz, Mammie Liz, Aunty Lizbeth or Lizzie". This sad event occurred on October 9, 2011 in Indiana. She was 72 years old.

The late "E" lived a rewarding and peaceful life touching many along her path as a Register Nurse. Her life was focused on the fear and the love of God. She always recognized the good in others. She will be missed by many. We praise God that she lived a life of service and dedication.

Mammie Liz was predeceased by her husband, Joseph L. C. Dougan. "Lizzie" leaves to mourn her lost and to cherish her memories, her children: Joseph "Kpah" Dougan (Caroline) of Liberia, Catherine S. Johnson of Liberia, Mydea Dougan-Smith (Kenneth) of Indiana, Christopher Madison Jr. (Shelsea) of Ohio, and Trokon "Charlie" Dougan (Rhoda) of North Carolina.
