Mr. Francis Nyema Ajavon

The Ajavon Family announces with profound regret and sadness the death of Mr. Francis Nyema Ajavon. He was 73 years old.

This sad event occurred on Friday, January 19, 2007, at Phebe Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County, Liberia. Mr. Ajavon was born on November 29, 1933, in Maryland County, Liberia to the union of the late Adolph Ayietah Ajavon of Togo and Sarah Dwelah Ajavon of Maryland County, Liberia. He predeceased his mother.

Before his home going, Mr. Francis Nyema Ajavon proudly attended and graduated from BWI in Liberia, and matriculated to Sweden, where he studied advanced automotive mechanics. He then returned to Liberia, assumed several job responsibilities including working with The LAMCO J. V. Operating Company, where he served as general supervisor for light and heavy duty auto mechanics. He spent his post retirement years on The Ajavon's Farm in Bong County, Liberia.
Mr. Ajavon leaves to mourn his loss his mother Sarah Dwelah Ajavon, his companion Onike Ajavon, his children (biological and adopted), grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends in Togo, Liberia, and the USA.

Children residing in the USA are Angeline Ajavon-Wordsworth, Patrick A. Ajavon, Ceasar Gardiner, and Wayne Ajavon. Residing in Liberia and Ghana are the following children: Morris Ajavon, Florence Ajavon-Jusufu, Wah Ajavon, William Ajavon, Henry Ajavon, Aye Ajavon, Rose Ajavon, Veronica Ajavon, Dorothy Ajavon, and Adolph Ajavon. His sons Lawrence and Francis Ajavon, Jr. predeceased him. Other children, including adopted children, are: William Johnny, Gertrude Wolo, Philemina Montgomery, Samuel Lepolu, and many other children who resided with him on his farm.

Grandchildren: 15, the eldest Bernice Ayele Ajavon and Derick Ajavon reside in the USA, and others in Liberia.
Siblings: Mr. Ajavon is also survived by his sisters Dr. Ayele Ajavon-Cox and Adjua Ajavon, and his brothers Joe Ajavon and Jackie Ajavon.

Mr. Francis Ajavon was well loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Viewing: Friday, February 9, 2007 at Anderson's Funeral Home in Monrovia, Liberia. Time: TBA

Wake Keeping: Friday, February 9, 2007 after the viewing. Place and Time: TBA

Funeral Service: Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Catholic Church on the Ajavon's Farm. Time: TBA

Interment: The Ajavon's Farm. Time: TBA

Repast: The Ajavon's Farm, following the burial
