The Gibson, Tubman, Cooper, Unoke families announce the home going of our beloved father, grand-father, uncle, cousin and friend, Everett Julius Gibson at 6:30 am on Friday, July 10, 2015.

Everett Julius Gibson was born unto the union of James Cyril Gibson and Laurentine Beatrice Tubman on November 25, 1930 in Harper City, Maryland County, Liberia.

He attended Cape Palmas High School, graduated and matriculated to Liberia College now University of Liberia, Monrovia Liberia. While there he received a scholarship in 1951 to attend Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, now Tuskegee University where he graduated with a Bsc in Civil Engineering in 1957.   

He met the late Elizabeth Virginia Turner a native of Alabama at Tuskegee Institute and on June 22, 1958 in Hempstead, New York he married Elizabeth Virginia Turner.

Upon his return to Liberia, he worked at the Ministry of Public Works as Asst. Minister and later operated His GMD Construction Firm.

He leaves to celebrate his life: three amazing children, Carol E. Gibson, Eric S. Gibson, and Mabel Gibson, his daughter Cynthia Gibson-Harvey who predeceased him on July 6, 2015. Two adopted sons, Rev. Samuel Gibson (deceased) and Daniel Gibson. One Sister, Elizabeth Gibson, One brother, Robert Gibson. One Sister Isabel E. Gibson and one brother, Christopher Gibson predeceased him. 17 grandchildren, several nieces including, Rev. Laurentine Cooper-Sellu, Annie Gibson, Melody E. Unoke, Dr. Ewa Unoke-Son-in-law, Celia Gibson, Muna Gibson, Edwina Blamo and Jacqueline Smith.  Several nephews including Morgan Gibson, two grand nephews, Leon Duncan, Christian Sellu two grand nieces, Aliuwa Unoke and Jamike Unoke.    A very close childhood friend, Jonathan Harmon. Several cousins including:  William V. S. Tubman, Jr., Winston Tubman, Robert Tubman, Laurentine Tubman-Dwamina, Grace Tubman-Dunbar, Antie Tubman-Dennis, Alfred Tubman, Bessie Tubman-Brent, Mac Tubman, Albert Tubman, Harriet Tubman-Goe, and Martha Tubman and host of relatives and friends in Liberia, Europe and the USA.
