 Mr.
Ernest J. Gildersleve
The
Gildersleve, Mayor, Green, Grigsby, Mitchell and Johnson families
regret to announce the death of their father, husband, brother
and in-law, Mr. Ernest J. Gildersleve on the 25th of February
in Staten Island, New York.
He
leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. Theresa J. Gildersleve,
his children, Joseph Gildersleve (Beatrice); Verdumi Gildersleve
Johnson, (Momolu, Daddy ) & Marcus J. Gildersleve; nine
grand children; brothers; Eddie Gildersleve, Nathaniel Gildersleve,
William Gildersleve, Maxi Gildersleve, John Gildersleve, sisters;
Cornelia Gildersleve Watson, Ernestine Gildersleve Thomas,
Claressa Gildersleve, Grace Gildersleve, Martha Gildersleve,
and Everline Gildersleve, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a
host of other relatives and friends in the USA and Liberia.
The
son of the late General Jacob M. Gildersleve , Aide-De-Camp
to the late President William V. S. Tubman. Mr. Ernest J.
Gildersleve worked as an engineer at the National Port Authority
in the late 1970s and thereafter worked as a construction
engineer at the National Housing Authority and the Ministry
of Rural Development. His life was centered around the infrastructural
development of Liberia and is evident by his work on the Cabral
Estate, Bardnersville Estate , New Georgia Estate and the
construction of schools and hospitals in the various counties
to name a few of the numerous construction projects he under
took.
