Counselor Theophilus Chapman Gould

The Gould, King, Richardson and Kemp families are deeply saddened to announce the passing of their son, brother, cousin, father and nephew Counselor Theophilus Chapman Gould. He was 61. 

This sad event occurred on Saturday, April 8 at approximately one o'clock a.m. (Liberian Standard Time) at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia. TC as he was commonly knowledge was an astute lawyer and dedicated father. He often put the interests of his family and other above his own. He will be missed with anyone who interacted with him. 

In his professional life, he excelled to the rank as one of the best criminal lawyers in Liberia and served as Solicitor General and Acting Minister of Justice. He was past president of the Liberian Bar Association (LBA), “Mighty Barolle” and held leadership position in many fraternities.

TC was a graduate of the University of Liberia and Christian High School in Liberia. 

He leaves to mourn all of his children, siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, fraternity brothers and sisters and friends. His parents predeceased him.

A number of events are planned.

Wake Keeping, Wednesday, April 26, at 7:00 PM at the Alpha Old Timers Field, Duport Road, "In Remembreance of Theophilus Gould"-

A wake keeping will be held in Monrovia, Montserrado County on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

A second wake keeping will take place in Buchanan, Grand Bassa on April 28, 2017.

The State Funeral will be held on Friday, Apirl 28, in Monrovia, venue to be announced.

Interment will follow at the family cemetery in Hartford City, Grand Bassa County on Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Additionally, a memorial service is being planned in the U.S. so that families and friends in the Diaspora can share in the home going of this eminent Liberian. Please stay tuned for additional information concerning the event.
