Dr. Joseph Cepheus Johnson Jr., M.D. (July 8th, 1941 – April 23rd, 2015)

The Johnson Family announces with deep regret and sorrow the death Dr. Joseph Cepheus Johnson, Jr., M.D. This sad event occurred on the 23rd of April 2015 at the Isabella Nursing Home in New York, U.S.A. after a period of illness.

Dr. Johnson is survived by his devoted wife of 49 year, Mrs. Lydia Amy Warsaw Johnson, his children, Mr. Delbert K. Johnson (Pandora), Mr. Jody C. Johnson, Mrs. Janjay C. Johnson-Hudson(Andrew-Bryce), Ms. Julene C. Johnson, Mr. Joseph C. Johnson III (Ralonda), Mr. Joseph T. Johnson, Ms. Dorothy B. Johnson, and Mr. Boye Johnson, and 19 grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his loss two sisters, Mrs. Arlene R. Johnson-George (P. Fallih) and Ms. Proserpina Johnson, in-laws Mrs. Anna Toe Johnson, Ms. Vyrlyn Warsaw, Mr. Augustus Warsaw, Mr. Harmon Warsaw, Ms. Lade Warsaw, and Mrs. Gladys Warsaw Ajado  and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends in the USA, Liberia, Nigeria, and England.


He was predeceased by his parents Mr. Joseph C. Johnson, Sr. and Mrs. Clarissa Etta Ricks Johnson and his siblings Capt. Arnold R. Johnson, Mrs. Judith Yatta Johnson-Sangotte, Mr. Albert Johnson, and Mrs. Christina Johnson Ammons.

Dr. Johnson who was also affectionately called Doc, Bro J.C., Uncle J.C., and Dr. J. served as Chief Medical Officer, Acting CEO, and Chief of Emergency Division, J. F. K. Medical Center, a lecturer, Department of Preventive Medicine, A. M. Dogliotti College of Medicine, University of Liberia, Director, National Leprosy Control & Rehabilitation Program, and Instructor, School of Physician Assistant, TNIMA.

He was an educator, a mentor, a contributor to his community, as well as a loving father and family man. 
*A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in Monrovia, Liberia at a later date.
