Honourable Henry A. Konuwa, Snr.
The family of Honourable Henry A. Konuwa, Snr. announces with profound regrets the death of their father, uncle and brother in his 85th year. This sad event occurred on May 23, 2013 at the hour of 12 O’clock Post Meridian at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Sinkor, Monrovia, Liberia after an acute period of illness.
The Late Honourable Henry Adama Konuwa, Snr., who was affectionately called “HK” was born on May 24, 1928 in Damballah, Porkpa District, Grand Cape Mount County, Republic of Liberia, unto the union of Chief Zuana Ansumana Konuwa Dagoseh, former Paramount Chief of Porkpa District, and Madam Maima Kpaka Rogers. Both parents predeceased him. Our late Father served as Former Superintendent , Grand Cape Mount County, Republic of Liberia, Commissioner, National Elections Commission; County Education Officer (CEO), Grand Cape Mount County; Principal, St. Augustine Episcopal Junior High School, Kakata, Margibi County, the Liberia Mining Company Senior Staff School and C. H. Dewey High School, both in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, respectively. Our dear late father was a Patriot; Administrator; Disciplinarian, Educator; Octogenarian; Devout Christian; Dedicated Public Servant; Republic of Liberia.
He leaves to mourn his loss his loving widow; Sando Sombia Konuwa, his Children: Zuana, JB, T-Bai, Henry Jr., Alfred Tamu, James Darden, Maima, Sando, Miatta, Mambu, Anthony Seata, Patrick Kanda, Lamine and Lawrence; three brothers: Judge William B. Metzger, Snr., Boakai Kanneh Konuwa and Dr. Kanda Golafale; one sister: Matu Dagoseh; seventy-five grand children: sixty-seven great grand-children: several nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia and abroad. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
On Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 4:0’cloc post meridian, the body of the late Honourable Henry Adama Konuwa, Snr. will be removed from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Palour and taken to the Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church on Broad Street for a night of wake-keeping commencing at 6:0’clock PM.
Funeral rites over his Remains will be said on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the same venue commencing at 10:00 ante meridian. Thereafter, his Remains will be conveyed to Damballah Town, Grand Cape Mount County for another night of wake-keeping on Friday night. On Saturday, June 15, 2013 interment will follow at the Damballah Town Cemetery, Porkpa District, Grand Cape Mount County, Republic of Liberia.
