ROSE ELIZABETH VONYEE WRIGHT LANGFORD

The Langford, Wright, Johnson, and Smith families regret to announce the untimely passing of Rose Elizabeth Vonyee Wright Langford (Tete Rose); widow of Henrique Langford, Sr.  Tete Rose passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2012 after a brief stay at the Catholic Hospital.  She was born on December 9, 1936 in Marshall City to the union of Jacob and Mary Jane Wright and was a long-time resident of Paynesville.

Tete Rose attended Suehn Mission and was a graduate of People’s College.  She was employed with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs in various capacities until her retirement after over 30 years of employment.  Notably God-fearing, Tete Rose was actively involved in her church community-serving as a deaconess at Effort Baptist Church, a leader of the church’s prayer team, and the Tuesday Cottage Prayer Band until ill-health rendered her unable to participate.

Tete Rose lost her husband, Henrique Langford, Sr. and her oldest son, Henrique Langford, Jr. to Liberia’s civil war.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Martha, her foster brother, Dr. Edwin Jallah, foster mother, Edith Smith, and her parents, Jacob and Mary Jane Wright.

Mourning the loss of our beloved Tete Rose are her four children: Himmie Eugene Langford (Olivia); Himmiede Eugenia Langford; Pastor Trocon Wilfred Langford (Miatta); and Gyumondeh Terrence Langford; several grandchildren; and three foster children, Rachel Langford, Ruth Jare Jones (Rancy) and Baryogar Weisseh.  Others mourning her loss include her only surviving sibling, Emma Williams Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; foster sisters and brothers; the congregation of Effort Baptist Church; and a host of other relatives.

Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Stryker Funeral Home in Sinkor, Monrovia.

Viewing and removal of the body will occur on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 5 p.m. at the Stryker Funeral Home; followed by wake-keeping from 6-9 p.m. at the Effort Baptist Church in Paynesville.

Funeral Services for Rose Elizabeth Vonyee Wright Langford will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at the same venue with internment to follow at the Marshall Cemetery in Marshall City
