Charles Benedict Lewis Sr.,
It
is with profoundest regrets that I share with your the
heartbreaking news of the untimely home going of the
Honorable Charles Benedict Lewis Sr., a retired Senior
Liberian Career Diplomat with the rank of Minister-Counselor
(commonly known as Nuku by close friends and relatives),
on November 11, 2005 in Huston, Texas, USA.
His loving wife, Mrs. Eve Armstrong Lewis, son Dr. Charles
Benedict
Lewis Jr., and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Agatha Cooper Lewis
were by his bed side as he took his last breath.
Minister-Counselor Lewis was born on August 31, 1923
in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County unto the Union
of Ms. Rose Huff of Robertsport and Mr. Samuel Lewis
of Marshall Territory (Margibi County).
Honorable
Lewis had an illustrious diplomatic career, serving
his country at many diplomatic missions spanning 30
years; including postings in Ghana; Nigeria; Haiti;
Hamburg, Germany; and Sierra Leone.
