We
the Flowers, Maccroni, and Mlawa families announce with deep
sorrow the home going of our beloved mother, grandmother,
great grandmother, sister, aunt, Missionary Mrs. Rachel Flowers
Maccroni R.N. She the widow of the late Mr. John Maccroni.
"Our Ma" as she was affectionately called was a
Registered Nurse. She worked as a Staff Nurse at the Old Government
Hospital on Snapper Hill, Monrovia, Liberia in the early fifties.
She served as Head Nurse for West Two and Director of the
Cholera Unit at the JFK Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia.
She
was a member of the Missionary Board at the Holy Temple Church
of God in Christ on Crown Hill, Broad Street, and an Evangelist
in the Gates of Heaven Mid-Day Prayer Chapel Inc., on Crown
Hill Broad Street Monrovia, Liberia. Mrs. Maccroni was also
a Director of the Crusade Band on Carey Street, Monrovia.
Mrs. Maccroni was the "Pillar in her Family". She
treated the sick without compensation. She was a true child
of God. She fought the good fight. Her life is her legacy.
"Our
Ma" you have left a void in our family that no one will
ever fill.
To cherish her memories and mourn her loss she leaves her
daughters Mrs. Hilda Woods Mlawa, and Marion Flowers her only
son- in- law Mr. Johanson M. Mlawa, One sister Mrs. Esther
Flowers Gaye, her seven foster children living in Liberia,
Sierra Leone, and the USA, grandchildren great grand children,
nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rest in perfect Peace Ma we will meet you on the other side
on that resurrection morning.
