The Mellish family is saddened to announce the sudden death of Samuel Mellish, the son of Frank G. Mellish Sr. and Mrs. Sayblee Brown Mellish. Sam or Uncle Sam, as usually called by some or nicknamed Saygbo died on September 27, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Liberia. He was a student of political Science and Manor Sociology at the University of Liberia prior to coming to the USA. Sam was a resident of Houston, Texas for about eight years. He left the United States for a brief stay in Liberia on April 21, 2007. He is survived by one daughter, Cleo Mellish, his mother, Sayblee Mellish, his brothers and sisters: Frank J. Mellish Jr., Margarette Mellish McIntosh, Zerbe Mellish, John Mellish, Nethaniel Mellish, Esther Mellish, Lois Mellish Passawe, Abraham Mellish, Barby Mellish, Nathan Mellish, Rev. Daniel Mellish, Nancy Mellish, Comfort Mellish, Lucy Mellish, Clarissa Mellish, Emma Mellish, Dogirl Mellish, Roseline Mellish, Minnie Mellish, and Rev. Eastman Mellish. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives. His Father, Frank G. Mellish Sr. and brother, Amos G. Mellish predeceased him. Wake Keeping and viewing will be held on Saturday morning, October 13, 2007 from 9am to 12 noon. Funeral Service will follow on the same day at 12 noon.
