NOTICE
OF THE HOME-GOING OF GEORGE SOCRATES MOONEY
The
Mooney family, with profound regrets, announces
the loss of their loving father, grandfather,
brother and uncle, George Socrates Mooney. This
sad event occurred on Wednesday, December 28,
2005, at 9:30 PM at the John F. Kennedy Memorial
Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia. He leaves to mourn
his children, David Mooney, Jacob Vambo, James
F. Doelo, Esther Mooney-Demor, Darwina Mooney-Gbamokollie
and Olivia S. Mooney; 15 grandchildren; 3 great
grandchildren; siblings Moses Mooney, Alfred Mooney,
Thomas Mooney, Henrietta Mooney-Williams, Ellen
Natt, Jemima Natt-Roberts and Danlette Mooney,
and a host of other relatives. Mr. Mooney's soul
mate of many years, Olivia Mooney; a son, George
Jr.; and daughter Ruth Mooney, predeceased him.
Wake-keeping/viewing
will take place at the First United Methodist
Church in the City of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County,
Liberia, on Friday, January 13, 2006, between
the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. Funeral
services immediately follow at the same church
starting at 11:00 A.M. G. Socrates (as he was
affectionately called by family and friends) will
be laid to rest at the Buchanan City cemetery.
We pray that the soul of G. Socrates will rest
in perpetual peace.
Simultaneously
with the funeral in Liberia, the Mooney children
and other family members residing in the United
States have decided to have an informal memorial
at the home of his daughter, Darwina Mooney-Gbamokollie,
at 611 Westmoreland Drive, Ewing, New Jersey between
the hours of 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Friday, January
13, 2006. All are welcome.

Going South on the New Jersey Turnpike from the
direction of New York City:
Exit
at 7A; bear left after the toll booth for 195
leading to Trenton. Remain on 195 East until you
see signs for Route 29 North. Take Route 29 North
to exit for Parkside Avenue/Cadwalader Park. Remain
on Parkside Avenue to Parkway Avenue; make a left
on Parkway. Come through the blinking traffic
light. Get in right lane. Westmoreland is the
5th street from the blinking light. Make a right
on Westmoreland and cross the next street (Pingree).
611 is the 4th house on the left.
Going
North on I-95 from the direction of Washington,
DC:
A
little while after passing Philadelphia, take
exit #46A onto US-1 North toward Morrisville.
Go approximately 6.5 miles and take the Rt. 29
exit onto S. Warren Street. Go 0.2 miles and take
ramp onto Route 29-North. Go 2.2 miles and take
the Parkside Avenue/Cadwalader Park exit. Follow
the remainder of the direction provided above.
