With heavy hearts and deepest sorrow, the Morris, Mitchell , Montgomery, Kellogg, Brown and Lloyd families announce the home-going of our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, in-law and friend Mr. Reuben Lincoln Morris Sr. (affectionately called “Brother”, “Brother Reuben”)of Greenville, Sinoe County, Liberia. This sad event occurred on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia.

The late Reuben Lincoln Morris Sr. was born unto the union of Mr. John Lincoln Morris Sr. and Mrs. Rose Z. Mitchell-Morris on October 28, 1937. Both of his parents predeceased him. He obtained his elementary education from the St. Joseph Catholic School in Greenville, Sinoe County; he later moved to Monrovia where he attended the St. Patrick High School and graduated. He was a devoted Christian throughout his life time; he served in various capacities as: an Acolyte at an early stage, an active member of the “Men”, a committed member of several organizations of the Catholic Church and the community (including the “Knights of St. John”), and an Usher until his death. He also worked at the Port of Greenville, Sinoe County, Scanship (Liberia) Inc. Buchanan, Grand Bassa County and as a civil servant at the Ministry of Public Works, Republic of Liberia from the early 1970s until the outbreak of the civil war in Liberia.

He is survived by: his wife Mrs. Carolyn D. Kellogg-Morris; seven children: Mrs. Joyce B. Morris- Lloyd(USA), Reuben Lincoln Morris Jr.(Lib), Julius B. Morris(Lib), Isaac B. Morris(Lib), Jerusha E. Morris(USA), Franklin T. Morris(Lib) and William B. Morris II(Lib); twelve grandchildren; ten siblings: Ms. Adelaide C. Morris (Lib), Mr. Jacob Morris(Lib), Mrs. Matilda Morris-Woods(USA), Mrs. Catherine Morris-Clark(USA), Ms. Frances Morris(USA), Mrs. Joanna Morris- Mayhew(UK), Mr. Jonathan Morris(USA), Mrs. Rose Morris-Carter(USA), Mr. John Lincoln Morris Jr.(USA) and Emmanuel Morris (Lib). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a host of other relatives and friends.
REST IN PEACE; Brother, you will always remain in our hearts….
