Dr. James Christopher Gbanyon Natt

The Natt family regretfully announces the death of Dr. James Christopher Gbanyon Natt. Dr. Natt dedicated most of his life to the education of children and young adults in the Republic of Liberia and in the U.S.A. He served for many years as a teacher and principal at various schools in Monrovia, Liberia; Detroit, Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor in the United States. He later served under presidential appointments, as the Director of Scholarships at Ministry of Education and then the Director of Research and Publications - also at the Ministry of Education. Dr. Natt went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 5, 2012.

He is survived by his loving wife Elma Marietta Natt; daughter, Tuoanyene Sims (Leon), Detroit; son John Nyema Natt (Lyla), Connecticut; sisters Mercy Natt, Pennsylvania and
Elizabeth Gedi Garwo, New York; brothers: George Natt (JoAnna), Liberia; William V.S. (Shad) Tubman, Jr. (Wokie), Liberia; William Appleton (Marianne), Germany; mother-in-law, Elma L. Stewart, Detroit; sisters-in-law, Pastor Ruby L. Moon, Detroit; Rev. Cressie L. Inge, New York; Lecta M. Stewart, Detroit; brother-in-law, Henry C. Stewart, Jr. (Thelma), Roseville, Michigan; four grandchildren; plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other dedicated and supportive family and friends.
