Blaneh Zoadah Nyah

Blaneh Zoadah Nyah, affectionately known to all that knew and loved her as “OldLady”–  a caring, joyful and cheerful personality was born on June 27th, 1917 in Nimba County, Liberia.  God in his omniscient power called our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother home to rest on December 25th, 2017 in Winston Salem, NC.

OldLady was a beautiful and loving person with a humble spirit.  She was a house wife and a “Market Woman” in Kakata, Margibi County before moving to Monrovia and eventually the United States.  A true matriarch, she loved her family and especially enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren and gardening.  OldLady was adored by all who knew her and her joyful personality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories a daughter, Susannah Nyah-Davies, and a son Molley (Charlesetta) Nyah, both of Winston Salem, NC.  Twelve grandchildren; Octavius (Valerie) Davies, Winston Salem, NC; Tenneh (Marbu) Neal, Grayson, GA; Prince (Brenda) Nyeplu, Charlotte, NC; Jefferson (Merdyln) Nyeplu, Charlotte, NC; Mercy (Princewill) Jeremiah, Monrovia, Liberia; Gmasnoh Nyeplu, Charlotte, NC; Claudia (Mouhamadou) Dime, Winston Salem, NC; Faith Nyah-Davies, Winston Salem, NC; Barclay Nyah, Sue Nyah, Tenneh Nyah, and Cherry Nyah of Monrovia, Liberia;  fifteen great grandchildren (Ahmad Kromah, Octavia Neal, Hannah Davies, Franklin Neal, Breanna Nyeplu, Daisy Nyeplu, Georgian Kailondo, Devine Barclay, Ugochi Jeremish, Princewill Jeremish, Joshua Jeremish, Chukwuemeka Jeremish, and Elijah Dime) whom she cherished and loved unconditionally and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both in the United States and back in Liberia.

OldLady, your family and friends will forever love and miss you.  The light you shined will eternally remain a beckon to guide our path.  Love You and Thank YOU for everything.

The family will greet friends on Friday, January 5th, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home chapel.

Funeral service will be performed by Rev. Dr. George C. Banks Pastor, at Goler Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church; 630 N. Patterson Avenue, Winston Salem, NC 27101 on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
