The
Ochillo and Marshall families announce with
profound grief and sadness the home going of
Dr. Richard F. Ochillo who was an avid researcher,
loving husband and father and an endearing friend.
He was a former Dean of the School of Graduate
Studies and Research; Professor, School of Computer,
Mathematical and Natural Sciences at Morgan
State University. This sad event occurred on
Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Sinai Hospital
in Baltimore, Maryland.
He
is survived by his wife, Dr. Roseda Marshall-Ochillo;
children - Odera Ochillo (Michelle), Oremo Ochillo,
Francella Ochillo, Okelo Ochillo, Christian
Ochillo, Catherine Obote, Anthony Odera, Patrick
Oduor, Linnet Akinyi, Olivia Odera, Lillian
Odera and Dorothy Odera Roes (Benjamin); Stepchildren
- Dr. Aminatu Shehu Brown (Richard) and Rochelline
Ekundayo Marshall-Davis; four sisters, six grandchildren
and other family members. His dear friends -
Rachel Marshall (Mother-in-Law), Joseph &
Victoria Olubadewo, Walter Ngagi, Sam Ejiaku,
Drs. Sola & Inez Oyelayo, Jack Opinya, Barbara
Ballard, Melvina Coleman, Ruth Yvonne Weh, Vivian
Clinton; his devoted caretaker, Maxwell Johnson,
and a host of other relatives and friends in
the United States, the Caribbean and Kenya.
His son, Owino Ochillo, father, mother, one
sister and four brothers predeceased him.
