the very peaceful home going of Mother Candace
Stevens Patray at the home of her children,
Rev. and Mrs. William M. Patray, Sr., in Zebulon,
North Carolina, USA, on Tuesday, September 13,
2011. Mother Patray is survived by her children,
Rev. William M. Patray, Sr. (Patricia) Zebulon,
NC; Mr. Richard S. Patray, Warren MI, Mr. Nathaniel
R. Patray (Glacia) Liberia/Charlotte, NC., Ms.
Agnes Rebecca Patray (Lady), Raleigh, NC., Mr.
Immanuel D. "Chunky" Patray (Clarice)
Liberia, Mr. Solomon R. W. Patray, Jr., (Tonya),
Ypsilanti, MI, Ms. Rose Willis, MN, Mr. Eddie
Patray (Teta) Liberia, and Mr. Alvin Patray,
Liberia.
The matriarch of the Patray family also leaves
to cherish her memory, her only surviving brother
Mr. Richard C. Stevens (Cecelia) Liberia/Massachusetts,
one brother in-law, Mr. Tommy G. Patray, Staten
Island, NY; two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Stevens
Morris, Charlotte, NC, and Rev. Mother Eliza
Stevens Merchant, Staten Island, NY. Mother
Patray was also blessed with several grand and
great grandchildren in the United States and
Liberia; many nephews; nieces, cousins; her
Providence Baptist Church family (Liberia);
the Providence Baptist Church Fellowship (USA);
her Church family at Wendell First Baptist Church,
Wendell, NC., and host of friends in the United
States and Liberia.
Mother Patray was predeceased by her husband,
"SB" the Love of her life, Deacon
Solomon R. W. Patray, Sr., her son George G.
Patray, her daughter Ellen Patray Seegbth, and
her grandsons, Wilfred Collins Patray, Alvin
Payne and Rickey Johnson.

remains of Mother Patray will be flown to Monrovia,
Liberia, on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, for interment.
Funeral services in Monrovia, Liberia, will
be held at the Providence Baptist Church on
October 28, 2011. Removal from Samuel Stryker
Funeral Home will take place at 9:00 am, family
viewing will be from 9:30 -10-30. The final
home going celebration will commence immediately
after the viewing. Mother Patray will be laid
to rest next to her husband the late Deacon
Solomon R. W. Patray, Sr., on Duport Road in
Paynesville.
