Nettie Eliza Williams Roberts
November 28, 1927 – November 17, 2014

We, the Karblee, Williams and Roberts families announce the joyful celebration of life of our mom, grand-ma, great grand-ma, sister, aunty, cousin and friend, Mother Nettie Eliza Williams-Roberts.

Mama made her transition to be with her Lord on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, Illinois.

“Nettie, Ma Nettie, NE, Girl Net, Chairman, mama, sister, Sis. Nettie, and grandmother”, as she was affectionately called, will be greatly missed by her children: Elsie, Ernest (Pauline), Marion (Charles “Baby Ray”), T. Markous (Teresa), Bea, Sandy, Gifty (Roosevelt), Joyce Kumbah Ogunti, Yarvo, Aletha Weatherall (Sylvester), Dorothy “Nuku” and Eric; Thirty-seven grand-children, and fourteen great-grand children; one sister Sarah Williams Moore; nieces, nephews, and friends. Mama was preceded in death by her husband (Tecumsay J. Roberts, Sr.) of 65 years, parents (Frank & Geblohn Meh), one sister (Mariah), one son (Tecumsay, Jr.), one daughter (Zinna), and one granddaughter (Nettie). Mama was a former member of the First United Methodist Church, Monrovia, Liberia, and transfer her membership to Ashland United Methodist Church, Ashland, Illinois. She worked for the Maternity Center as a Registrar, Liberian National Police Academy as a Dietician. She was a Deaconess and a prominent member of the Senior Choir at First UMC, Monrovia; formerly a Chairman of the Junior Praying Team of Gates of Heaven Mid-day Prayer Chapel of Monrovia, Liberia. Mama, grandmother, nana, aunty Nettie, was a superb cook.
