James Nathaniel Russell

With sadness, but with total submission to God's will, the Russell, Carr, Capehart, and Woods families announce the Home Going of their beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, Father James Nathaniel Russell, former Chief Accountant of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Finance Assistant of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), Lay Leader of St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, and Worshipful Master of the Freemasons. This mournful event occurred on Wednesday, July 18 at the ELWA hospital near Monrovia in Liberia, West Africa.

No words can adequately express our sadness at Daddy James' death or our gratitude for the opportunity to have him as a father. We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work in the church and community he loved so much.

In his public life, Jimmy was known as a dedicated public servant; in his private life, he cherished his family and friends. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their memories and prayers during this period of profound grief.

He leaves to mourn his loss his darling wife Mrs. Margaret Russell; sister Facia Russell-Kollie (Chris); aunt Theresa Woods-Caine; brothers-in-law, T. Esau Carr and J. Obae Carr; and, many children: Joyce Witherspoon (Jervis), Francia Kofa (Sawee), Rachelle Kanneh (Varney), Florence Neufville (Christian), Stephanie Roberts (Kokro), Tonia Dehmie (Alexander), Marlene Zinnah (Varfee), Darlington Russell, and François Theo Russell (Brenda), Victoria Russell, Alvin Winthrop Russell (Clara), James Nicholas Russell (Irene), Jarsm Famatta Russell, Ivan Major Russell (Betty), Toniah Russell (Yarma), Otis Russell (Emoh), Quentin Russell, Justin Russell, Jervis Russell, Ambrose Ricky Russell (Elshaddai), Wynfred Russell, many grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements are as follow:
