The Saygbay, Hallie, & Merchant families announces with profound regrets, the untimely home going of their wife, mother, sister and aunt, Dr. Victoria Merchant Saygbay. On June 2, 2015 at the Centennial Medical Center, Frisco, Texas.
She was employed as a professor at the Cuttington University in Liberia, until her death, while she was on vacation in the USA
Her remains is currently at the Spencer Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas awaiting travel to Liberia on July 28, 2015. Upon arrival in Liberia, her remains will be taken to the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Parlour in Sinkor, Tubman Blvd.
She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 40 plus years, Francis G. Saygbay, Sr, of Frisco, USA, children, Ujai C. Saygbay, Sonie Saygbay, Francis Saygbay, Jr, Amos M. Saygbay, Monigo Saygbay-Hallie, Son-in-Law, Theophilus Hallie, Papy Saygbay, 24 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters, Marie and Comfort Merchants of Atlanta, GA, her parents who predeceased her, friends and acquaintances of Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston and the Cuttington University in Liberia.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
On Tuesday, August 4, wake keeping will take place in Kakata City, Margibi County, from 7pm to Midnight.
On Wednesday, August 5, her remains will be transported from the Stryker Funeral Home in Sinkor to Kakata City, and laid at the First United Methodist Church where funeral rights will be perform by the host pastor.
Thereafter, she will be laid to rest in Kakata City, Margibi Count
