Steve Wilmot Takpor Smith Sr.

The Smith, Freeman, Gee, Collins, and Gibson families announce with sadness the death of their son, brother, nephew, cousin, and father Steve Wilmot Takpor Smith Sr. (AKA Big Papa). This sad event occurred on May 26, 2014 at the Bay State Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA at 5:30 a.m.
The late Steve Wilmot Takpor Smith is survived by his wife Mrs. Beth Smith, his children Prince, Chuck, Tyler, Steve Jr, and Stephanie. He is also survived by his family, including his parents, General Edward W. Smith, Sr. and Martha T. Smith, Ms. Louise G. Gibson (Predeceased), as well as Madam Laisy Freeman, his biological mother, his Grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Wartoh Collins Gee, his siblings, Larry Yeada Smith (Michelle), Otis Smith (Olivia), G. Alvin Smith (Stephanie), Gerald Smith (Emma), Thomas Smith (Esther), Samuel Eddie Smith, Samuel Hoff, Edwina W. Smith, Rebecca Smith, Patrice Yatta Smith, Ezekiel T. Smith, Emmett Smith. His younger brothers, Edward Smith, Jr. and Chuck Smith, predeceased him. Other family members include his Uncles and Aunties: Mr. Patrick Sebastian Smith (Fatu), Mr. Taylor T. Smith (Annie), E. Roy Smith Sr., Esq. (Bea), James B. Smith (Helena), Isaac Gee (Cousin) and Thomas Collins Smith (Aminata). Aunties include, Edith Smith, Yvonne B. Smith (Patrick), Ruth Gee Kear (Dr. Kear), Minister Beatrice Smith, Mlendough (Robert), Dorothy Smith Tinisio (predeceased) and Benetta Smith.

Steve is also survived by a host of other relatives including cousins, nephews, Nieces, friends, In-laws and other extended relatives in Liberia, the Ivory Coast, and the United States of America. Steve was a graduate of Ricks Institute in Virginia, Liberia, West Africa.
