Roland Cornelius Stevens
Sunrise – October 23, 1946
Sunset – January 16, 2018

Whosoever dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in who I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2)

The townships of White Plains and Louisiana, and the Stevens, Mellish, Mcclain, Moore, Rhodes, Brown, Bright, Teages, Yates and Manly families regret to announce the death of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, nephew, cousin and friend, Roland C. Stevens (also known as Bor Ro, Steve, Bor Steve and RC).  Bor Ro went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2018 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; he died at Miriam Hospital with his family by his side.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Minnie Manly-Stevens; his children, Konah Stevens (Deavin), Ronald Stevens (Karta), Marvin, Clinton and Tumu (deceased); 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; his siblings, Frances Stevens-Moore, Amanda, Cynthia, Girly Momoh, Charles Stevens, Cyrus, Juanito Stevens (Dolly), Kenton Stevens (Edith), Vashti Stevens-Mellish (Frank), Winston Stevens (Augurie), Audrey Stevens-Williams (Fabian), Robert Lee (Aisatu) and E. Willie Nimmo; his aunt, Victoria Bright; his second mother, Ma Helen Lee of Royesville; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

“Bor Ro was predeceased by his parents, Robert Cornelius Stevens and Dolly B. Stevens, and his brother, Walter Stevens.

Bor Ro, RC, Bor Steve, Steve, you will be greatly missed. May your soul rest in God’s eternal peace and his light perpetually shine on you.
