The family of Francis Jallah Sumo regretfully announces the peaceful home going of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. This sad event occurred on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Duke University Hospital, Durham, NC at approximately 2:00pm.

He leaves to celebrate his life and carry on his legacy, his four children: Francis Zingo Sumo, Jr., Sabah Comfort Elizabeth Sumo, Korpo Anna Sumo, Janet Patience Sumo; grandchild, Mahogany Star Parker; mother, Anna Sumo; sisters, Ruthie Sumo Cole, Alice Sumo, Rebecca Sumo; brothers, Henry Sumo, Mulbah Sumo, George J. Sumo, Joseph Quellie; aunt, Berlin Bornor; cousins, Irene Otto, Henrietta Whitfield, Joseph Bornor; nephews, Isaac Jorboyan and Simeon B. Cole III; niece, Joanna S. Cole; ex-wife, Yassah Elizabeth Sloan; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
