The Thomas, Dawkins, Natt and Gyfran families from New York and Liberia sadly announce the passing away of our dear mom, step-mother, grand-mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousin, Stephanie Anita Dawkins Thomas, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 27th, 2018 at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. Stephanie was born in White Plains, New York.
Stephanie graduated from Valhalla High School and went on to attend Mercy College in Tarrytown, New York. She later met and married the late David Thomas Jr. (Army Boy) from Cape Palmas, Liberia and moved to Harper City, Liberia for few years with her late husband and only daughter. Stephanie believed in keeping the family together therefore she embraced her late husband’s four children as her own, showering them with the love she showed for her husband and daughter. Due to the civil unrest in Liberia, Stephanie returned back to the U.S. and settled in Virginia with her husband and three of the five kids. After a long career at Army Times Publishing Company in Virginia, she retired and shortly thereafter, became ill. She lived with her daughter Kaydra and husband until the time of her death. Stephanie had a zest for life and embraced the Liberian culture and people from all walks of life. She left an impact on everyone she met and touched them with her kind-hearted spirt.
