Laurene Welleh Togba: August 11 1975-August 10 2014
“BABY”, “Nurse Laurene”, “Aunty Laurene”, “Aunty Baby”

The Togba Family would like to announce the sudden death of our daughter, fiancée, sister, cousin, aunt and friend Ms Laurene W Togba commonly referred to by us as “Baby”. This sad event occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday August 10 2014 at the ELWA Ebola Center in Liberia. She was a Registered Nurse and her demise came as a result of being affected with the Ebola virus in the discharge of her professional duties at the ST Joseph’s Catholic Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Nelson B Togba and Mrs. Beatrice Togba. Her father and 2 brothers Benedict Togba and Linus Togba predeceased her. She is survived by the following: Mother (Beatrice Togba), Fiancée (James Morris), Siblings: Lucia Togba, Cletus Togba, Bernard Nyae, Veronica Sleyon (Philip), Veronica Togba, Francis Togba (Natasha),and Patrick Togba, several cousins including: Sister Mary Laurene Browne Evelyn Seah, Victoria Sambola, Veronica Teah, J Kankonba Toe, Gladys Pupo, Mensahn Toe, Erica Kamara, many Nieces and Nephews, Co-workers, and a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia, The USA, and Europe. Laurene was a graduate of ST. Mary’s High School and Cuttington University College as well as a former student at the Mother Pattern College of Nursing of the Don Bosco Polytechnic. She had affection and love in caring for children as could be reflected in her attachment with her 5 year old nephew “Togba”.

A Day of Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday November 8th 2014. Details are as follows:
Requiem Mass at 10:00am: ST Laurence Catholic Church, 854 West Chester Pike Upper Darby Pa 19082
Tributes and Remembrance Service from 12-5pm: Tully Memorial Presbyterian Church Hall, 100 Sharon Ave Sharon Hill Pa 19079
In consideration of long distance, those wishing to pay tribute can do so at: and your tributes will be read during the service.
