Deacon David D. Tolbert, Sr.,

July 9, 1935 – April 5, 2016

The Tolbert, Momah, Kollie, Dennis and Hall families announce with sadness death of Deacon David D. Tolbert, Sr., in his 81st year after a brief illness at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Monrovia at about 3:00P.M. on April 5, 2016.

Deacon David D. Tolbert, Sr. was born to the late Daniel Frank Tolbert, Sr. and Nehn Tumu Joel in (Bensonville) now Bentol City.  Deacon David D. Tolbert, Sr. embraced Christianity at an early age and joined the Zion Praise Baptist Church. Uncle David as he was affectionately called by many of his relatives and friends attended the Euphemia Barclay Elementary & Junior High School where he completed the 9th Grade. He later moved to Monrovia City where he continued his education.

Deacon David D. Tolbert, Sr. leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, Mrs. Esther Nebeah Tolbert; his sons, David Jr. (IE), Robert Rochford and Eli Tolbert and Ovita daughter-in-law; his brothers Edward Tolbert and Christian Tolbert; his sister Gblahn; grand children and great grand children.  Also mourning his loss are his many friends, nephews, nieces, cousins in Liberia and abroad.

The body of Deacon Tolbert will be removed from the A. B. Roberts Funeral Home in Gardnersville, opposite Stephen A. Tolbert Housing Estate at 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 22, 2016 and taken to Zion Praise Baptist Church in Bentol City for wake keeping.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the same Church on Saturday April 23, 2016 and interment will follow at the Tolbert Family Cemetery in Bentol City.
