Laura Ketter Townsend, with the love and support of the Ketter, Alexander, and Towsend families, with great sorrow announces the passing her beloved husband Tony Townsend, 55, of Charlotte, NC. This sad event occurred on January 18th, 2018 at Carolina Medical Center –Main in Charlotte, NC. Along with his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, he leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Julia R. Randolph. He leaves three sons to carry on his legacy, Dominic Wreh of Charlotte, Anthony (Tony) Townsend of Palm Springs, California, D’ontray Townsend (Brittany) stationed in Englewood Colorado ; and one daughter, Angel Townsend of Charlotte, North Carolina. His brothers : Cedric Alexander of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cleo Alexander of Durham, North Carolina and Kelvin Townsend of Hagerstown, Maryland. Sisters: Ernestine Alexander of Concord, North Carolina, Yvonne Sharpe, of Charlotte ,Yvette Haynes of Kings Mountain, Ruth Davis (John), Sonya Randolph, Vickie McCorbin (Christopher) of Charlotte, North Carolina. Grandchildren: Toni Teah, Arryssa Townsend, A’laiyah Townsend, and Ava Townsend. Four brothers-in-law: Edwin, Abraham, Alfred, and Philip; and sisters-in-law, Catherine, Rose, Marie, and Rachel. Tony is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. He was loved by many and cared for by all.
