We, the members of the Tumbay, Cooper, and Flomo families, sadly announce the tragic death of our dear and beloved wife, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, and niece – Mrs. Eva Fatu Cooper Tumbay of Edmonton, the Province of Alberta, Canada. This sad event occurred in the Saskatchewan Province on September 22, 2017 when a reported stolen vehicle crashed into theirs – killing Fatu and two of her friends and critically wounding another. Fatu, as she was commonly known, was born and raised in Topoe’s Village, Gardnersville, Liberia but sought refuge, during the Liberian Civil War, at Buduburam Liberian Refugee Camp in Ghana where she met her Husband Dixon N. Tumbay, married and finally migrated to Edmonton, Canada with her husband eleven years ago. She was predeceased by her dear father, Joseph Mulbah Cooper, Sr., Sisters Hawa Flomo, Kermein Cooper, Nuwoe Cooper, and her brother Jupaul Cooper.
Fatu loved life and people, especially her family and friends. She in turn was loved and cherished by those who knew her and by life itself.
Fatu will forever be remembered by her husband, Dixon N. Tumbay, her children: Vanissa Siah Tumbay, Dixon Saah Tumbay, Erika Kumba Tumbay, and Devine Joseph Tamba Tumbay; her mother Nyanman Farr Cooper and step mother Korto Cooper; her siblings – Moses K. Tatee (Nyanman) Anna Cooper Boe (Jacob), Moses Jarta Flomo (Saba), Martha Cooper Boweh (Emmanuel), Musu Flomo Williams (Darker), Ammah Cooper, Matilda Cooper Garpue (Samuel), Sarah Paila Flomo, Joseph Mulbah Cooper, Jr. (Carmelia), Amie Kemah Cooper Wolo (Montgomery), Maima Cooper (George), Abraham McGill Cooper (Bernice), Sandoe Cooper Kamara (Solomon), Linda Cooper, Nancy M. Cooper Carter (Keprick), Jonathan Cooper, Martin Cole Cooper, and a host of uncles, aunties, nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and church family. May her soul rest in peace with God.
