Stephen Wright Vaye (Daddy)

It is with profound sadness that the Wright, Vaye and Payne families announce the home going in his 38th year of Reverend Stephen Wright Vaye, Sr., affectionately called "Skip", on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at about 4:15 p.m at the Baptist Medical Center (Downtown) Jacksonville, Florida. Stephen leaves to mourn his loss, his beloved wife and soul mate of fourteen years, Veronica Payne Vaye, two loving children: Stephen Teddy Vaye, Jr. and Albertha Leorla Vaye, his devoted mother Beatrice Putu Vaye and Step Father Freeman Vaye. Reverend Vaye's other survivors include his sisters Acquila Cooper, Tina Wright Abando (Frank), Pinky, Vonyee, Eva and Mercy Vaye, three brothers Junior, Vincent and Moses Vaye. Reverend Vaye is also survived by his loving Aunts Maima Wright and Dolly Wright Mitchell, Father-in-law Nicholas B. Payne, Sr., Mother-in-Law Mary Payne, brothers-in-law Benedict, Joe Kojo, Robert, Daniel, Chris, Nicholas, Jr., Ben, Charles, Edward and Emmanuel Payne, Sisters-in-law Cecelia Mensah and Charlotte Kamara, many nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, relatives and cherished friends in the United States of America, Liberia and across the globe.

Reverend Vaye graduated with a bachelor degree from the Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary on May 27, 2005. Reverend Vaye was a founding member, associate minister and leader of the praise and worship team of First African Community Church of Jacksonville, Florida under the leadership of Pastor Napoleon R. Karr. Reverend Vaye was also the organizing Pastor and a founding member of the United African Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida of which he was ordained on January 2004. Reverend Vaye was a devoted member of the Church of Pentecost, USA and the United Pentecost Church, Monrovia, Liberia.
Reverend Vaye was predeceased by his father Albert Wright at an early age.
